Meet our chefs Hanno and Danelle. The passionate couple that create extraordinary dishes. Our Chefs are making the phrase power-couple come to life, they are two people that function as one. Their qualities complement each other and they bounce their ideas off of one another to create the magic that can be seen in their dishes.

Hanno Barnard is our Head chef, at the young age of 24. Hanno is brilliant in what he does, he has walked a mile in every person’s shoe in the kitchen and has learnt many valuable lessons doing that. He knows that the kitchen functions as one body and he leads this team with passion, dedication and skill.  Hanno’s love for the culinary world began when he was 13, he wanted to become a chef. He got the chance to work under Chef GT Lundi at Zest Restaurant in Nelspruit and the privilege to work at Nyati lodge in the Sabi Sands to gain more knowledge. It was with 10kg uncleaned calamari and 30kg butternut that he knew this was his passion. Hanno is a creative extrovert that thrives in the kitchen, he graduated from the Capital Hotel School in Pretoria and has worked his way to the top. He has worked in various fine establishments like some of the Protea Hotels, Fortis Hotels and at Kream Restaurant before opening Vista’s with his lovely girlfriend Danelle Naude, the head pastry chef at 23 years young.

Danelle Naudé also graduated at the Capital Hotel school, were the lovebirds met and it was love at first sight. Danelle specializes in pastry and has a personality as sweet as the desserts she prepares for you. Danelle’s love for the culinary world began when she baked with her mother and grandmother at a young age. In grade 10 her food science teacher introduced her to the patisserie side of the culinary world. At that moment she knew exactly what she wanted to do. Danelle is a friendly introvert who expresses herself in her baking. She is caring and energetic. Danelle has been in various competitions where she has done exceptionally well. She was the Top of her class and also the Patisserie student of the year. She has worked her way through some of the best establishments in Gauteng and Mpumalanga such as Singita Lebombo and Kream Restaurant in Pretoria. Danelle has some great skills and is using them to show Potchefstroom what the pastry-side has to offer.
